Jessica Huynh
Bio
Jessica Huynh is a strong trial lawyer who brings experience, compassion, and legal expertise to the Smith & Vinson team. Jessica Huynh is also an adjunct professor at the University of Texas School of Law as a mock trial instructor. She enjoys being able to utilize her knowledge and experience to help educate the bright legal minds of the future. Jessica has handled thousands of cases ranging from low-level misdemeanor offenses to higher level offenses including sexual assault and capital murder. Jessica has been trying cases and connecting with juries across Texas for over a decade.
As a first generation Vietnamese-American, Jessica was the first in her family to attend college on a full scholarship at the University of Southern California where she competed on a nationally-recognized mock trial team. She graduated with a degree in Political Science in 2003. Jessica continued her passion for trial advocacy at the University of Oregon School of Law where she founded and formed a competitive mock trial team. She also started her career in criminal law interning at the Washington County District Attorney's Office outside of Portland, OR and graduated in 2010.
Jessica returned home to Texas and spent 11 years as an prosecutor in Galveston, Williamson, and Travis counties. Prior to Smith & Vinson, she was the lead trainer at the Travis County District Attorney's Office and for years, handled and tried the office's complex child abuse cases and other aggravated felonies. She is dedicated to using her extensive knowledge of the criminal justice system to help her clients by passionately advocating for their interests in the courtroom.
