Bio
Brad Vinson is an aggressive attorney who cares about giving his clients the best possible representation.
Brad completed his undergraduate education at the University of Tennessee, majoring in communication. He went on to attend law school at South Texas College of Law Houston, where he met his law partner, Jarrod Smith. While in law school, Brad co-founded the South Texas Criminal Law Society, working to help educate fellow South Texas students on important issues in the field of criminal law, such as mass incarceration, media influence on high profile criminal cases, and the death penalty. As a South Texas professor’s personal research assistant, Brad spent considerable time researching and writing about issues in criminal law, criminal procedure, and military justice.
Brad was a fierce mock trial competitor. He and his law partner, Jarrod Smith, finished first place in the annual Garland Walker Mock Trial competition. He then went on to compete in a variety of mock trial events and traveled to New York to compete in a national tournament as a varsity advocate in South Texas College of Law Houston’s nationally ranked mock trial team. Brad was named Summer Trial Academy Best Advocate Overall.
Brad and Jarrod founded Smith & Vinson Law Firm because they are passionate about criminal law and believe in helping people navigate a confusing and complicated criminal justice system. Brad has handled hundreds of cases in both State and Federal Court. He has experience handling issues ranging everywhere from Class C misdemeanors to capital murder. Additionally, Brad has considerable experience defending cases for active duty service members and is familiar with the unique issues confronted by those who are faced with criminal charges while serving in the military.
With Smith & Vinson, you are not just hiring a lawyer to handle your case, but a firm that will put you and your legal needs first.
